About Me
I turned to writing poetry as a creative outlet a couple of years ago. In that time I’ve become the host of a poetry series in my neighborhood in South Buffalo, NY.
I released a chapbook called songs.cradled in early 2010, an illustrated volume of poetry, Protected by Paradox in 2011 and Orbs in March of 2012.
I try to write daily, if only a little.
I try to read daily, as much as I can
I live daily, a lot
I hope you enjoy my work and please comment on it and share it if you like.

Hi, Fred,
Ina Schroders-Zeeders, a follower of yours, directed me here. I also live in the Western NY area, originally from Buffalo, now living in East Pembroke between Akron and Batavia. I see you are doing a poetry reading at Dog Ears Bookstores this month – I don’t know if I will be able to get over there for your reading as I care for my elderly mother, but certainly am glad to be introduced to you and your excellent poetry. I am a writer of fiction but I also dabble in poetry and do some artwork: http://bardessdmdenton.wordpress.com/
PS I have been in contact with Dog Ears regarding my recently published literary historical novel, A House Near Luccoli, hoping they might consider selling it. I had contacted Tom McDonnell about a month ago (sent him an email and marketing folder for the novel), but haven’t heard back. Any suggestions?
Best of luck with your writing and in all ways for the New Year! Diane M Denton
Nice to meet you Diane. I hang
around Dog Ears quite a bit and
I’ll ask Tom about your book. Hope
to meet you in person. I host the
poetry series at the store. Ut is

Hi, Fred. Thanks so much for your reply, and your consideration in mentioning my book to Tom. I so appreciate it. I look forward to following your work!
An old man in the park poem is a brilliant piece, truly. It is a great metaphor for an aspect of art-making, and I have forwarded it to some friends and colleagues. Thank you!
thanks for sharing!
Thank you for the follow, all the best for your journey!
You spoke at my class today
I’m not usually a poetry reader, but I really enjoyed your poems. I would like to personally thank you for coming and doing the reading for us. I am following you on here now and will frequently come on and read what you post.
Thank you again!
thanks! I had a good time, I’m glad you enjoyed
the presentation. It’s good that the
weather allowed us to be outside.
Thanks for following my blog also!
Hi!
Would you happen to be a Fred Whitehead that taught at SIU, in the early-mid 1970’s?
No, sorry. I was in my early teens around that time
Hello Fred. There’s something I’d like to write to you about. Could you email me please, at: lookerstevens@gmail.com Thanks. J
