waiting for emancipation

June 1, 2012 § 4 Comments

this strange perspective
lives by
drawing on the diction of
formulaic frictions found in
sounds
emulating from foreign fever
pitchstuck tarpitted shackle-legged
dragging through the off-load
shaking under weight
of ragged days
swayed off course-often
enough turned round
pushed back on tracks worn into
brickpath avenues and wooded trails
backcount enumeration cannot lie
the slow
stack up behind the lines
swinging with their empty arms
at harm-mongers
(hanging on at the fringes)
with
a glassy
eye
turned upon the kenneled
fingers tapping out the
dirge cadenced exit of
upward promise
